Strategies that I consider more useful:
1-Using the headlines or title to predict the content
2-Quickly read the text to get a general idea of content
3-Re-reading the parts of the text you don´t understand
The strategy that I use most frequently is the re-reading the parts of the text I don`t understand, because when I do the first reading , there are words that I do not understand, for this reason I Look for in the dictionary. The unknown words and read the text again. In this way I understand the main subject of the text and I can make a better analysis

  3. Hector & Romina, very good comments. Looking up int your dictionary the words that you don't know is key to understanding the text you are working with. Also, guessing meaning from context speeds up the reading process.

  8. The three reading strategies that I consider most useful are:

*Quickly read the text to get a general idea of content.
*Re-reading the parts of the text you don’t understand.
*Underlining important information found in the text.

I can’t read a text without underline the most important information that I found in the text, because that will help me to locate the main idea and details used by the writer.

Using this strategy I’m increasing my comprehension, and I know exactly what the writer want to say. Beside, this help me to summarize the main ideas in a long text.

That’s why I consider that this strategy is the most useful.

  11. Try to explain the strategy that you use the most in a more personal way. That is, tell why you use a particular strategy more than others according to your personal experience. Do not copy what is in the book.
